Sets Volleyball
Sets Volleyball was almost certainly some sort of volleyball equipment brand. Sadly, I have never found any indication of the existence of this brand beyond this shirt. If anyone has any information about Sets Volleyball, they are encouraged to get into contact with me.
Volleyball is a team sport where two teams send a ball over a high net attempting to ground the ball on the opponent’s side while keeping the ball in air on their side. There are indoor and beach varieties of the sport. Indoor rules have 6 players to a team, is scored to 25 best-of-5, uses a smaller and heavier ball, and is played in larger area. Beach rules allow 2 players to a team, is scored to 21 best-of-3, uses a bigger and lighter ball, and the playing area is small.
There are two meanings of the word set used in volleyball parlance. A set is a synonym for a game of a series. A set is also a touch of the ball that prepares the ball to be hit by another player. I imagine that the company that commissioned this shirt was quite aware of both definitions.
Gym class in secondary school exposed me to indoor volleyball. I enjoy the game, but I am a liability as a server while not being talented enough to designated a libero ⇒. I have only watched other people play beach volleyball for a few minutes while on vaction in
California.
Part of a black zipper tie can be seen on the hanger along with the shirt. At this point, I am unsure if I was either unaware or too lazy to take the tie off the hanger before I took the picture. I do not want to re-shoot now because the zipper tie is an exciting twist on the door and hanger formula explored so thoroughly throughout the collection of shirt pictures.
I have and wear both traditional and zipper ties. I understand that there are different levels of formality, and that a zipper tie is not always appropriate. The intuitiveness of the design of the zipper tie, however, is awesome.
The particular zipper necktie in this picture is long lost. I tore up my living quarters trying to find it before a job interview. I ended up acquiring a traditional tie and not getting the job. So it goes.
