What It Is Not

The Freedom Quotient ("FQ") is NOT an indication of how much or how little I like a shirt.

FQ is not calculated for shirts that are classified within Peoples' Free Shirt Archive, Less Than Free Shirt Archive, or Free Shirt Auxiliary.

What It Is

Instead, the FQ is meant to express how altruistically an item was donated to the Free Shirt Archive or the Free Stuff Archive. The reason for developing such a measurement is to differentiate between the different acts of donation. Some donors were taking pride in quantity rather than quality of their donations. Meanwhile, some donors were silently donating quality. I found that situation to be unfair to those that are silent and to those that donated quality free shirts. I decided to give an official voice.

Interpreting what that voice is saying is simple. The higher the number of the FQ implies greater altruism in donation of that item.

There are twenty things that I objectively observe about a donation which are calculated to arrive at an FQ. Extra credit can be given in unique situations. All twenty things are officially kept secret so as to maintain the integrity of conduct by which a donor donates. To release the list would inevitably result in a gaming of the system. Extra credit can and is given when warranted.

Any quotient can be easily reversed to find a product. The reason that I selected the words "Freedom Quotient" over "Freedom Product" is because product has multiple meanings beyond the result of multiplication whereas quotient is generally understood to only mean the result of a division problem.
