"In Case You Only Care About The Basics"

The Free Shirt Archive exists to catalog subsets of my shirt collection in the event that anyone cares. I currently provide information on 250+ shirts described throughout the site with 220+ of these shirts being truly free to me. I also provide information on shirts that I have given to other people, shirts that were less than free to me, and uniquely free stuff that was provided to me.

Why? Frivolous information such as what someone ate for dinner on Tuesday or what outfit they came up with standing in their closet is now easily published through social networks and blogs. Back in the late 90s and early 2000s, however, those tools that empower anyone to create ego temples were not quite ready for mainstream use. Early webmasters were just as self-important as account holders are today, but even more pretentious. Web pages were written as if the pages were "resources" instead of simply descriptions of a person's ego and demonstrations of conspicuous consumption. The Free Shirt Archive was created as a satire of those early sites. Oddly, the joke has outlived the intended targets.

Nonetheless, the site has also proven to be able to entertain some readers along the way. Indeed, some other people care. I am appreciative, but also a little surprised.
