On the front left breastplate position is the personalized part of the design. "ANNUAL ASME" is in a shade darker then the perennial green we have grown used to in our lives and also at a curve. Centered, and slightly below the words, is an empty, black-outlined circle with many filled in black circles. This forms a golf ball with well over a hundred dimples on it. As the eyes go right and down the dimples are larger. The golf ball featured here is repeated twice in the design, so please keep it in your mind's eye. The golf ball is seated on a green tee that has a white portion on the right side. The ball above gave the impression it was lit from the top and left since the dimples were smaller, so this light from the direct right is very questionable. "2000" is written in black and at a curve in the funnest font on the shirt. The font gets serious in the green previously described with a "G" followed by a golf ball and "LF" in the same style as the "G". Another golf ball begins the outing and is followed in the same style as the non-O letters in golf by "UTING".

The shirt on the back is large and centered with the positive space is composed completely in black. "GOLF IS A GAME OF INCHES..." is written above a drawing. The drawing is of a golfer with black heavy-on-top hair, who is wearing sunglasses (a line), with lines for a nose and a mouth near the beginning of their neck. The open area of the neck ends in a collar that is formed by two tear/circle-shaped collars. The shirt is clear and formed with a thicker stroked outline that will continue throughout most of the drawing of the golfer. The golfer's shirt is short-sleeved. The golfer's right hand is gloved and obscuring the view of the left hand. The hands extend all the way down to the golfer's five-hole, that is more like a triangle by the angle their MC Hammer pants come together. The pants also get slightly wider on the outside portion of the legs. The bottoms of the legs are rolled up. The golfer's shoes are then composed of triangles that are interrupted by the rolled up pants. In the golfer's hand is what appears to be a heavy wood driver. The golfer is clearly left-handed, because of the position of the all same-colored driver. There is a golf ball without dimples on top of a single black line that functions as a tee. "SOME OF US JUST HAPPEN TO BE BORN WITH A BIGGER ADVANTAGE." is written in the same font as "GOLF . . . ..." but in a smaller size.

The obvious question here is "How big is your advantage?" When I am asked this question, which is often, I first look down. Then I respond, looking them straight in the eye, that I do not play golf.

The ASME is the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. I was previously unsure of the origin of this shirt and conjected that it was from a Medical association. Whoops. Sorry about such a terrible mistake.

It is a shame that whoever is responsible for this shirt decided to have a golf outing. Golf has points, but otherwise should not be considered a sport. Instead, it should be viewed as the classist exercise that it truly is.

Who am I to complain when this website is not exactly beautiful, but the graphic of the golfer is just horrible. It is troubling in 2000 that whoever got the shirt made would not be able to tell the design was made sometime during the 1980's. Even by those standards and the lightheartedness of the shirt, the drawing of the golfer is just poop. I hate to speak ill of someone else's vision, but the picture captures the truth.

Some have asked how big the advantage I was born with is. Well, I am sure that can be arranged if you are nice enough.
