This is the front of the shirt which is further described below.
Oldies 93
Physical Description: The front of the shirt displays the logo in black, orange, sky-like blue, and dot of white inside of the "O". Underneath the oldies 93 logo is written "ALL OLDIES. ALL THE TIME", and in smaller print underneath of that is "ACTION SILKSCREENING 1-800-417-6744.

Change sometimes can be drastic and hard for people to accept, or it can be so inconsequential that it really doesn't matter. When Clear Channel Communications monopolistically bought up a bunch of the local radio stations around town they shortly thereafter decided that they just had to switch the positions of the only oldies and only hard rock stations in town at that time. Since I abhor corporate radio, I was relatively unfazed by the change, but apparently more aware of it back than because people who claimed to always listen to it had no idea the day of the change. Imagine that day when the older bubble-gum tarts waking up to Bob & Tom (I think it was them. It was at least a pair of shock jocks that are too stupid to be funny. (I'm sorry, Bailey)), and those hard-ass muthafukas waking up to something like "Winchester Cathedral".

The old Oldies 93 had a thing for giving out shirts at every event their personalities went to, and apparently had a big backup supply of swag. I was told by people who listen to the radio more than I that they were going to be giving it all away to people that came to the Clear Channel building down the road from where I live. This of course peaked my interest and I arrived there promptly at 5pm. Unfortunately, that was too late and everyone had left except the cleaning staff...

When I mention people that clean up after others, I realize that some people who read this might read that and think they are better than the janitors. To this ignorant a subsection I ask, "When will you give me a free shirt?"

When I asked the Clear Channel janitors where the stuff was, the cleaners told me I had come too late to get anything. Then as I was leaving, the one shouted out to me to hold up. He opened a drawer and handed me two Oldies 93 shirts. The janitors had grabbed the last 2 shirts and just gave them to me without me asking anything!

I've noticed very often in life that it is those who have less that share and give more of themselves. Although they probably didn't really want the shirts anyway, the cleaning crew didn't just horde them so that they could have them and not other people. I don't think they quite realized how happy I was to get a free shirt (I am very giddy when I get a new free shirt). In addition, they gave even for the fact I got out that far; even though in reality I lived off of the street the building is on.

Everyone can use another free shirt, but who most often gets them? Those who don't need will get what others do. The people who wear them once, if even that much, and then donate the shirt that no one else but me would wear to goodwill and consider that to be an act of charity. Thanks, I want to wear a shirt that you almost made a rag.

To just give an imperceptible percentage of one's money and refuse isn't charity, it is an insult. Those who do this are just trying to get rid of that little bit of guilt in the corner of their minds that somehow wasn't destroyed by materialism. If you really want to help out the situation, you could always give the gift of your time and understanding. Really, being on the receiving end of it in ways more than shirts, I know that action helps more than the giver knows. Of course, I personally will still take some of your shirts.
